Rivière-du-Loup, February 16, 2022 — A Rieker store will soon open at the Rivière-du-Loup shopping center, just in time for spring and the end of lockdown. Four years after acquiring Chaussures Rioux on Rue Lafontaine, Noémie Bourque is taking a big step forward by setting up a second location, this one devoted entirely to the popular German brand.

The entrepreneur has joined forces with one of the world’s most renowned shoe companies to create a local boutique bearing her name, the first one east of Quebec City. Almost the entire collection of Rieker shoes, boots, sandals and slippers will be on offer in the 1000 square foot space, located opposite the Pharmaprix. “Rieker has long been a favorite at Chaussures Rioux. This brand offers very high quality items at reasonable prices. I wanted to offer a wider choice of their timeless yet avant-garde designs to people in the region. It was perfect timing, because the company was also looking for a partner to set up here,” she says, proud to fill a need at the shopping center.

Founded in 1874, Rieker is renowned for the comfort, durability and timeless style of its products. All its shoes are designed with flexible outsoles and lightweight insoles, incorporating technology that reduces plantar stress. Its sister brands, Remonte and Révolution, will also be on sale.

The opening of this store, which will create four jobs, will not prevent Chaussures Rioux, a flagship store in the city center, from continuing its development. Quite the contrary. Noémie Bourque is reassuring: “The loyal clientele will continue to find a selection of exclusive shoes in a variety of styles, following the latest trends. The warm service, which has been the shop’s hallmark for over a hundred years, will remain, while continuing to adapt to new technologies.
