5 essentials for when the kids go back to school

It’s back to school time… there’s no escaping it! After basking in the sun all summer, counting shooting stars and jumping in the water, it’s time for the kids to go back to school. Between the list of school supplies to be completed, the holidays coming to an end and the return of the famous LUNCHS, there are still a few little things to plan for. What, you haven’t thought of them yet? Here are our essentials!
1- Shoes approved by the school
If your child is of primary school age, you will probably need to provide 2 pairs of shoes…and these must exactly match the school’s criteria.

2- Essentials for rainy weather
Think it’s too early to be talking about rain? Summer isn’t over yet, but it’s still the best time to get kitted out in preparation for those occasional gray days in the fall. 3- Everything for back-up lunches
Containers, snack bags and thermos flasks
Because yes, it is VERY likely that a family member will lose/forget their plate/thermos flask/snack bag this year. It’s inevitable, even if you label them, it’s the same every year. To avoid running out of a plate or thermos on a beautiful Thursday evening (you know, that famous plate that fits in the lunch box), buy several of the same model. And presto, you’ll always have one on hand!
A bottle of water
To save children having to go back and forth between the classroom and the refreshment stand, give them a bottle that they can have on hand at all times. Choose an attractive water bottle that will encourage children to drink throughout the day. While you’re at it, get one for yourself too 🙂
Efficiently organized snacks
Do your children eat snacks in industrial quantities during the day? Whether for school or for the weekend, buy several in advance to avoid running out. Buying in bulk? Use bags that you prepare together at the weekend for the coming week. It’s an easy way to get the children to contribute to the back-to-school routine. Then sort the snacks by day or by child. This will help them manage the quantity they eat and choose what they want each day.

5- Important items to help children organize themselves
A well-organized office
It’s no secret that children need peace and quiet to concentrate. Do they have a space of their own to do their homework? Consider creating a small, effective study area for them to maximize the time spent on homework and lessons. No more time wasted looking for school supplies to do homework!
A board for the organized family

Using a board fixed to the wall, you can record each child’s sports practices, medical appointments, special days at the daycare center, etc. This will enable the whole family to keep track of the weeks and know what’s coming up for everyone.
